Built in 1847, this beautiful mansion that offers a unique experience described as a mix of Australian and Italianate architecture. Beautiful/relaxed garden to get lost in with towering trees and country-style flowers. If you’re hungry, The Stables of Como Cafe’s a wonderful shed-like pitstop for (to-die-for) scones, bunch, pizzas, coffee and cocktails. You can order a little picnic set up on the grounds too – book online to reserve your spot.
Art and nature lovers will adore Herring Island & Sculpture Park in the middle of the Yarra River. You can explore some riveting sculptures by renowned Australian/Aboriginal artists. To get to the island, catch the free punt service (weekends and public holidays from January until Easter) or make your own way there in a boat, canoe or kayak. Picnics and bbqs are welcomed on this island too.
